キャッスルティンタジェルのメンバー、スタッフ、そして応援してくださる皆様、
新年あけましておめでとうございます。

まずは、新しいホームページへようこそ！

しばらくはまだ手直しなければならないところもありまが、この新しいデザインのホームページを持ったことをとてもうれしく思っています。 また私個人としては、Blogページ加わり大変喜んでします。これで皆さんとより気軽にコミュニケーションができるのではないでしょうか。

2017年はキャッスル・ティンタジェルにとって驚くような変化の年でした。 去年の初め、私たちはさまざまな活動やクラスを一貫したカリキュラムに統合する作業を始めました。 以前は、ロングソードクラスと甲冑のスパーリングを行なっていましたが、今では、スキルクラス—騎士を目指す騎士道クラと、和の武士道クラス–とメディーバルバトルスポーツ（MBS）のシステムができました。

スキルクラスでは、スキルテストに基づくランクアップシステムを導入しました。ノービスクラスでは、剣＆バックラー（またはシールド）とロングソードの技を学び、スカラー以上では 、これら２種目のほか、槍やポーラックスのようなスタッフ（棒術）、ダガー、レスリングなど、新しいスキルを身に付けることができます。

競技面では、MBSはさまざまな形式の競技を可能にします：
ライトバトル（軽装）とアーマードバトル（甲冑）のスタイルがあります。アーマードバトルは、ラタンを使用した（突き技有りの）戦場バトル競技とスチール製のウエポンを使用した「フレンドリー（突き技無し）」トーナメント競技の両方で構成されます。 すべてのMBSのランクアップは純粋に客観的なパフォーマンスに基づいて決定されます。

今年は私たちの活動にとって大きな一年となることでしょう。やりたいと思う事がたくさんあります。 ジャパン・アーマードバトル・リーグはスコットランドで開催されるIMCFトーナメントに国を代表して参加することを楽しみにしています。ラスベガスでの「コンバットコン（Combat Con）」に、HEMAを勉強するメンバーを送りたいとも考えています。 そして今年の最大のイベントは、ティンタジェルの10周年記念パーティーです。 私たちは、そのパーティーを企画し、皆さんとともに中世武術の10周年を祝うことを楽しみにしています。

私たちキャッスルティンタジェルでは、中世の武術を現代世界にもたらすために、今年も皆さんと共に学んでいきたいと考えています。

To all the members, staff, and supporters of Castle Tintagel: Happy New Year!

First of all: Welcome to our new homepage! We will be polishing it for a while, but we are so glad to have such a nice new design. For my part, I am glad to have this Blog page, because now I can communicate more easily.

2017 was a time of an amazing transition for Castle Tintagel. Early last year, we began the process of consolidating our various activities and classes into a coherent curriculum. Whereas before we had longsword classes, and armored sparring, now we have Skills classes — Kishido for the Knights, and Bushido for the Samurai — and Medieval Battle Sports (MBS).

The Skills classes will offer progression based on — naturally — skill tests — and focuses on sword & buckler/shield and longsword for Novices. With advancement will come new skills to study, including Staff weapons (spear, poleaxe), Dagger, and Wrestling.

On the competition side, MBS will allow for competitive combat in a variety of formats: Light Battle and Armored Battle. Armored Battle will comprise both Rattan-based deadly combat sparring and Steel-based “Friendly” tournament sparring. All MBS advancement will be purely objectively performance-based.

This year will be a big year for activities: There is just so much that we want to do. The Japan Armored Battle League looks forward to representing the country in the IMCF tournament in Scotland, and we hope to send a group to study HEMA at Combat Con in Las Vegas. The biggest event of the year, though will be our 10th Anniversary Party. We are looking forward to planning and celebrating our decade of medieval martial arts.

We at Castle Tintagel are so looking forward to studying with you this year, as we all work to bring medieval martial arts into the modern world.
